![]() ![]() There's a number of ways to get these with various tricks, including raising and lowering the water level - we'll leave that up to you. Each time you find one, a number will appear telling you how many you've found - like with red coins. This star wants you to find five secrets in the level, all of which are hidden in and around certain objects. Wet-Dry World Star 3: Secrets in the Shallows & Sky It is, of course, slap bang in the middle of the highest island in this stage. This one is largely a platforming challenge you simply need to get to the highest areas of the level, and do some tight jumps and tightrope walks across wooden planks in order to reach a yellow ! box which contains the power star. It's fiddly to hit the box like this to open it, but it's totally doable. What you can also do, however, is go to the 45-degree angle slope on your right when you start the level and hit the switch there to raise the water to its highest level, then just swim over to the box. The legitimate way is to use the arrow platforms in the area of the stage where you spawn to get across a gap to a yellow box which contains the star. There's a legitimate way to do this and a cheap way. Wet-Dry World Star 1: Shocking Arrow Lifts ![]() The painting is on the upper floors, and features a picture of a water spider enemy that you'll also find in the level. While you can raise and lower the water inside the stage with special switches, keep in mind that you can change the water height on spawn by the height you jump into the painting - a high, medium or low jump determining the starting water level. It has a unique mechanic - raising and lowering water levels. While many of the levels in Mario 64 so far have been good, this level is the first of a back-half streak that shows a real confidence with this Mario team working to create a 3D game. Wall jump off the wall behind the steeple to get the final Red Coin and collect the Power Star that appears inside the steeple.The 11th course in Super Mario 64 is Wet-Dry World, and for my money, this is where this game really hits its stride. Red Coin #8 is also nearby, on top of the steeple. ![]() At the base of the steeple is another red-brick block to smash, giving you Red Coin #7. Now make your way toward the back of the town, in the dead-center where you see the steeple. Get to the top and ground pound the red-brick block to reveal Red Coin #6. The gap between the cage and that building is small enough that you can wall jump between them to reach the top. There's another tall building next to a tall cage. Jump over to it and smash the block to gain Red Coin #5.ĭrop back down to the floor level and run across to the other side of the area. At the top is another red-brick block with Red Coin #4, and on the rooftop nearby, you'll see a fifth red-brick block. #Super mario 64 last impact spider seriesTo reach the top of this tall building, perform a series of wall jumps back and forth until you reach the top. At the corner is a small gap between the wall that surrounds the whole town and the wall of one of the tall buildings. There are two more red-brick blocks at the tops of those walls that you can smash to reveal two more Red Coins (#2 & #3).ĭrop from the previous coin’s location and run to the corner of the area ahead – directly across from the corner with the tunnel entrance. Wall jump off the wall of the first building to reach the top of the second building-up top you'll find a red-brick block that you can ground-pound to reveal Red Coin #1.įrom this rooftop, you can turn around and jump onto the walls that surround the center of the town area. If you're facing the tunnel entrance, to your right is a building with another building just right of that. Let the water drain before you go after the first red coin. Hit it and it completely drains the area of water. Head back underwater to reach the floor of the area directly beneath the tunnel entrance you came through to find a diamond water switch. Re-surface to catch your breath and get ready for the Red Coin hunt. Take a deep breath and dive down going through an underground tunnel, which leads to a completely new section of the stage. Swim over to the cage and jump out of the water to hop over and enter the cage. Turn slightly to the right to see a large cage directly in the corner of the stage. When you enter the level with the water at the highest point, you’ll begin the mission on top of a square wooden platform floating on the water. To get that high, perform a double or triple jump into the painting, or face away from it and backflip into it. Anywhere above the Water Bug’s eyes should do the trick. For this Star, you’ll want to jump high when you enter the painting so that the water level will be at its highest point. ![]()
